2008 Stories

Jan. 16, 2008 Three nights ago, at about 10:30pm, I was in the kitchen and heard running upstairs. I went up thinking one of the kids was in the bathroom. Wrong again! They were both sound asleep. Later that night, at 1:15am, my son crawled in my bed and said he had just seen the shadow of a kid his size standing in his doorway.

There was one evening when I reached to open the door to the exercise room. My hand was only a couple of inches away when the doorknob started to jiggle. I thought my oldest was on the other side starting to open the door. I grabbed the doorknob anyway and turned it. When the door opened, no one was on the other side.

Jan. 28, 2008 Yesterday morning I was in the living room with my 3 and 4 yr olds. I heard heavy footsteps in my bedroom...which is right above the living room. My first thought was that it sounded like my dog jumping around in my room. It wasn't him, though, because he was asleep at my feet. I knew better anyway but even then I went to check on my oldest to make sure. Her bedroom is behind the living room so I went to her room and she was sound asleep. I hurried upstairs to see if I could record some EVP but got nothing. Now for the experiences I forgot to tell until now.

One night, my sister was spending the night (she's 11). I was upstairs in my office and heard the front door creak open. Then I heard my sister ask my daughter a question. I thought they had just come inside from watching the meteor shower. I came out of my office and looked around the corner and down the hall to see that my sister was standing at my bedroom door. It was then that I remembered my daughter was in my room on the other computer. I went down to check the front door and it was open about 1 ft.

Also, when my sister comes over, she can most of the time come down the stairs and the fan in the entry room starts spinning on its own and then just stops. I know she's not reaching to turn it because she's short and I can't even reach it from the stairs.

Feb. 15, 2008 Tonight I was getting ready to pull in to my driveway so I was going really slow. I looked inside the window of my entry room and could see the fish tank lit up. I could also see a silhouette of a small boy run past the tank towards the stairs. From the time I saw that to the time I parked the van and got in the front door was no more than 20 seconds. I was in such a hurry because I wondered if my son might have been getting in to something or if I saw a spirit. When I walked in the door I called his name. He came in from the exercise room in the back of the house (opposite direction from where I saw the shadow boy go). He had been playing at the sliding doors with our dog who was outside at the time.

By the way... I got a new toy today. I bought an IR light for my camcorder on ebay and it arrived today. I can't wait to try it out!

Feb. 27, 2008 My daughter, Ahri, and I were in the living room playing the PS3. I took time out to paint her nails. Ahri was sitting on the couch and I sat on the floor (not facing her but sideways). I saw a dark shadow mass out of the corner of my right eye. I immediately looked up to the right and as I did so, Ahri said, "I saw it, too." She then told me that she had seen a lighter colored figure move as if it was standing up. Then it moved backward and disappeared. That's the first time she and I have ever seen the same thing at the same time.

March 21, 2008 Last night I had my webcam going so my friend could see me while we chatted. At one point I bent over to pick a pen up off the floor. As I raised back up, I saw a shadow move from left to right only across the webcam view. Something passed through the 18 inches between me and the webcam. I didn't see it in person...only on the window that showed the webcam's view. My heart jumped because it just startled me. I actually thought it was pretty cool!

Just 10 minutes ago, I was upstairs fixing my hair. My daughter called for me to hurry downstairs. She proceeded to tell me that she just had a major experience and that my son had also somewhat experienced it. She was sitting in the exercise room and my son was in the living room. She heard the doorknob to the basement door turn. She looked up to see a fist and arm shove the door open from the basement side. It stayed for a couple seconds then pulled back in to the basement. My son had heard it, too, and immediately shut the door. I hate that I missed it but I have noticed the door slightly open at different times lately.

Friday (the first night), I was a guide and had a headset on. This headset has an antenna that can either stick straight up or be clasped across the top and side of the headset so it doesn't get caught on anything. I had mine clasped down. I was sitting outside the back door talking with a friend. We were in a good conversation, I wasn't moving and no one was anywhere near me. At some point I felt and heard 'someone' playing with the antenna.

Last night, I was waiting at my scene with one of the other two ghouls who are in it with me. No one had come past our scene for several minutes and we were actually waiting for a group to be brought inside. While we waited, the power to our scene went out. The extension cord had been unplugged. After plugging it back in, I checked to see how tight the cord fit in the plug. It was a snug fit which means it couldn't have been just bumped and knocked out.
